Each and every Rousseau mouthpiece is 100 made in America. Once completed, the baffles and tip rails are expertly hand-finished by saxophone specialists at the JodyJazz factory. Each mouthpiece is then play tested to ensure perfection.

The JDX perfectly delivers this power - in an elegant and beautiful sounding package. In fact, the tone of the JDX mouthpiece was the mouthpiece of choice for Gerald Albright, Kirk Whalum, Eric Marienthal, Grover Washington, and Cannonball Adderley, just to name a few.
To ensure you have a balanced sound with great projection, Rousseau designed the JDX mouthpiece with a unique wedged baffle. He then added a smaller chamber to the JDX mouthpiece to ensure your bright tone can soar across the top of an ensemble. The larger tips found on the Rousseau 2.0 JDX mouthpiece range are ideal for bending notes.
The Rousseau design all started when Dr Rousseau couldn't find a good enough commercial mouthpiece to recommend to his students - so he made his own! Rousseau actually learned about woodwind design and acoustics from one of the finest acousticians since Adolph Sax - Charles Houvenaghel. Heavily inspired by the mouthpiece that Marcel Mule gave him in 1961, Rousseau finally launched the famous "R" series of mouthpieces - Rousseau's best selling range.
Chicago born and bred, Eugene Rousseau is known as one of the finest saxophone players around. So good in fact, Rousseau was a chief consultant for Yamaha's saxophone research team, continuously contributing to the development of their instruments and mouthpieces.
