The Pittsburgh Modular Lifeforms SV-1 is an ideal eurorack modular synthesizer for both the beginner and intermediate modular user. Conveniently for beginners it is pre-patched underneath allowing you to get started straightaway and connect to your MIDI device. In addition there are also 53 flexible patch points available on the synth module allowing more intermediate users to get right into patching up different sounds. Once you begin patching you will feel the power of the SV-1 and its tremendous amount of flexibility and capability for synth sound design. The SV-1 is capable of a wide range of sounds including analog FM bass, deep percussive hits, leads, and thick, warm pads.
Integrated Synthesizer Components
The SV-1 features a wide range of built-in functions for sound design. The SV-1 includes 2 beefy and clean oscillators, modulation and tools which provide access to 2 sub-octave oscillators, 4 stage envelope generator with a plucky, organic feel, MIDI conversion, VCA, analog noise and sample and hold with the hold function pre-wired to MIDI clock to create perfectly timed random voltage steps, 4 channel mixer that is pre-wired to oscillator 1's waveforms, state-variable filter, splitter, and line level and headphone outputs. The SV-1 makes for a powerful centerpiece for your modular system due to its expansive functions, sound design ability, and compatibility with other eurorack synthesizers.
MIDI-Compatible
The built-in MIDI to CV converter allows the user to connect any MIDI-compatible gear to their SV-1 and convert it to control voltage. The volt per octave and gate outputs allow you to easily connect your MIDI keyboard or DAW and take control of the SV-1 your way. The extensive patch options allow you to access glide, CC and velocity as well as a digital clock-synchable LFO with various waveforms for modulation options. The SV-1 also features an arpeggiator allowing you to create complex patterns and rhythms.
