Loaded with two DMT Design humbucking pickups in the bridge and neck position the Tyrant X delivers a powerful and punchy tone with plenty of bottom end and sparkling highs. Perfect for a range of playing styles and music genres the DMT Design humbuckers particularly excel when used for hard rock and screaming lead licks.
The Dean Michael Amott Tyrant X incorporates a string-thru body construction to provide improved tonality and sustain by transferring vibrations and resonance from the string to the body as it goes over the tune-o-matic bridge and passes through the body.
Born in 1969 Michael Amott is a Swedish guitarists and songwriter for the bands such as Arch Enemy, Spiritual Beggars and Carnage. Having played from a young age Michael has never had any instructional tuition and has developed his own unique playing style which orientates around Pentatonic and Aeolian scales. In 2008 Michael received an endorsement from Dean Guitars and has since released a range of signature models which deliver a smooth playability and high output tone required for his studio and live performance.
A mainstay on stages the world over, you too can become a part of Dean's distinctive heritage that boasts some of rock and metal's most famous names like, Dave Mustaine of Megadeth, and Doug Scarrat of Saxon. Lest we forget Dean's most famous user of all time, potentially one of modern metal's greatest icons, the late great Dimebag Darrell Abbot.
