Loaded with a pair of Supro Gold Foil pickups, the Westbury guitar provides players with a classic look and sound that is reminiscent of the 60s. The high output pickups feature authentic vintage coil construction, and are finished with an 'S with Diamonds' cover for a classy appearance. The bridge pickup is over-wound producing enhanced output, whereas the neck pickup is reverse-wound which acts as a hum canceler. Shape your tone with the 50s wired tone and volume controls.
Alder is favoured by most players for its incredibly balanced tone, offering the perfect dynamic range to suit most musical styles. This alder body is perfect for a variety of playing styles, as its excellent sustain and resonance ensures each note is heard. Its bright, sizzling highs, rounded lows, and beefy midrange sets up the foundation of the guitar's overall tonality, allowing players to achieve the perfect sound for most situations. The alder is topped with flame maple, enhancing the tone with brightness and creating unique aesthetics.
The Supro Westbury features a maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard, delivering beautifully bright, warm tones. The maple offers roundness to the tone, providing bright characteristics and an excellent amount of sustain.
The rosewood offers sweetness to the tone, smoothing it out and furring up the harsh edges of the maple. The maple and rosewood combination provides players with smooth and comfortable playability.
Supro products were first manufactured in Chicago between 1935 to 1968. Over the years they have expanded their range to vintage guitars, basses, pedals and the legendary tube amplifiers. Supro's amplifier legacy goes back to the 1930s, and it grew in the 60s when Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page used a customised 1/12 Supro combo amp to record their debut album. Supro's products have been used by many iconic artists including David Bowie and the Rolling Stones.
