Roasted maple - a modern day masterpiece

Perhaps the most important factor in a guitar's playability is its neck. For the PT Van Nuys, Schecter chose a Thin 'C' profile made from roasted maple. This much-coveted wood starts life as regular maple, but through an intensive kiln-firing process, the timber's structure hardens, and exudes its own oils to create a neck that's extraordinarily smooth, without the need for third party oils or waxes.

Thanks to its newly stiffened interior makeup, a roasted maple neck becomes almost totally impervious to water, meaning changes in temperature, pressure, and humidity have a negligible effect on the neck's relief. This preserves your setup's action height and intonation no matter the conditions. So, from sweaty practice rooms to searing hot stage lights to the freezing car ride home, you can have full confidence in your axe, right out of the case.

Exquisite electronics

The PT Van Nuys is dripping with top-notch tech. Its pickups and their accompanying electronics make it an outstandingly versatile instrument with plenty of strength in depth. A pair of Schecter's own USA SuperRock Vintage pickups provide all the full-bodied, mid-forward rock'n'roll drama you'd expect from a set of humbuckers. However their vintage voicing makes for chords with pristine clarity, and solos with personality you can't ignore.
