The King 2055T Silver Flair Bb Trumpet is filled with professional features that musicians have come to expect from King. The first valve slide features a thumb trigger for precise and easy intonation corrections. This feature is particularly useful for cornet players who use these style of triggers often and need a trumpet as a second instrument. The King Silver Flair also features a large .462" bore coupled with the single radius "C" shaped tuning slide. These two features combined allow the 2055T to have very little resistance resulting in a very open and free-blowing feel. On the third valve slide there is a finger saddle and a rod stop for easy movement and to assure precise tuning.
The King 2055T Silver Flair trumpet is made from yellow brass because it provides a nice balance between the various playing parameters allowing the trumpet to be incredibly versatile. This is why yellow brass is the most widely used and commonly played alloy in the world. Once the 2055T has been constructed, it is silver plated to add subtle brightness to the sound and to keep the instrument looking newer for longer. The valves in the Silver Flair trumpet are crafted from monel which is a nickel and copper alloy. The majority of premium trumpets have monel valves because it is very dense and is more resistant to corrosion, meaning they won't flake and are less likely to seize up.
The first King instruments were developed in 1894 and were viewed as a revelation to the music world. King had a reputation for engineering the best trombone slides, making them smoother, finer and lighter than any other trombone. Today, King use their musical heritage to continue to set high standards for modern-day instruments, combining both traditional techniques and modern-day processes into every instrument.
