Featuring powerful Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound Flat SSL-4 single coil pickups, the Ritchie Blackmore Stratocaster produces a punchy, thick and high output tone. Perfect for rock, blues heavy rock and even nu metal the Quarter Pound Flat SSL-4 pickups incorporate alnico magnets with reverse wound and reverse polarity modifications in the bridge position. With only a bridge and neck pickup this Stratocaster has a non-active dummy cap in the middle position to keep the traditional 3 single coil pickup look.
Incorporating a speedy scalloped fretboard the Ritchie Blackmore Stratocaster provides advanced playability and sustain due to the slight indent (scallop) in each of the frets which becomes progressively deeper higher up the fretboard. This uncommon fretboard treatment also provides smooth and quick string bending, tapping and tremolo perfect for high speed shredding.
Taking inspiration from the traditional Fender Stratocasters the Ritchie Blackmore Stratocaster incorporates a range of vintage style components such as the vintage F stamped machine heads, vintage synchronized tremolo, vintage fret sizing and large '70s style large headstock.
