Stunning Chambered Mahogany Body

The Gretsch G6131T-TVP Power Jet is beautifully crafted from a chambered mahogany body with an arched laminated maple top, creating a stunning and lightweight instrument. The chambered design offers all the benefits of a solid body guitar, but with an enhanced resonance to deliver crisp overtone and a beautifully bright sonic punch. The laminated maple and mahogany combination provides the Power Jet with its full-bodied, rounded sounds, offering a sparkling high end and an excellent amount of warmth. The body is also equipped with a single cutaway, offering easy access to the higher frets for an incredibly flexible performance.

Neck and Fingerboard

The Power Jet Firebird also features a stunning mahogany neck coupled with a beautiful ebony fingerboard, offering incredibly sweet, warm tonal characteristics with plenty of low end thump and midrange punch. The mahogany neck is crafted with a comfortably smooth profile, while the fingerboard's binding and 12’’ radius ensures players receive a fluid and precise performance. The fingerboard is also equipped with Gretsch’s stylish white pearloid Neo-Classic ''Thumbnail'' inlays, creating a visually stunning aesthetic without detracting from the ebony’s smooth feel.

TV Jones Power'Tron Humbuckers

Along with its amazing tonewoods, the Gretsch Guitar is also equipped with a set of TV Jones Power’Tron humbuckers to deliver beautiful dynamics and excellent clarity. The Power’Tron humbucker was born out of a need to create a pickup with a stronger midrange presence and higher output than the previous Classic pickup from TV Jones, resulting in a humbucker with rounded highs and a natural midrange presence. Setting the guitar to the bridge position offers full treble notes with an incredibly deep, clear bass twang, while the neck position offers a darker and hotter tone.

Adjusto-Matic Bridge

The guitar’s adjusto-matic bridge offers both a great tone and precise intonation with its six individually adjustable string saddles. When combined with the Bigsby vibrato tailpiece, the bridge slightly rocks with the vibration of the strings to reduce friction and improve tuning stability. In addition, the pinned rosewood bridge base extends slightly beyond both sides of the bridge, transferring string energy to the body chambers to enhance its rich and full-bodied tone.

Bigsby B3C Vibrato

Like many guitars by Gretsch, the Power Jet features a Bigsby B3C vibrato tailpiece to create classic sounding pitch bends which are evenly spread across all the strings. The smooth tremolo system can be used to create subtle movements in chords, adding extra depth and texture to your sound, or infuse your tone with sudden pitch shifts for extra tonal versatility.
