Constructed entirely from quilt ash, the Dean Exhibition not only looks beautiful, but has an impressive tone to match. The quilt ash body produces a rich tone with strong and snappy characteristics. Additionally, the Dean Exhibition also delivers a bright attack with a deep low response, creating a well-rounded and versatile tonality. Players can expect a bright, crisp, snappy sound, coupled with a long lasting, smooth sustain that is well-suited to a wide range of genres and playing styles.
The Dean Exhibition features thin body, which not only provides comfort but reduces unpleasant feedback when plugged in. The Exhibition's thin body is lightweight and offers comfort through its more compact size, making it ideal for the studio and stage environments. Its slimmed down body also has a Florentine cutaway, offering extra comfort when playing more challenging chords.
A Florentine cutaway comes into a sharp point, resulting in a horn-like shape. Its a complex design and more labor-intensive to craft than a Venetian because the guitar is originally built as a non-cutaway guitar. The Florentine cutaway provides an edgy appearance and enables players to access higher frets.
Constructed from mahogany, the Exhibition's neck delivers a resonant warmth that responds greatly to numerous genres and techniques with equal ease. The neck features a D shaped profile which ensures a smooth and comfortable playing experience and is ideal for those electric players wanting to transition to acoustic, but not lose the feel and playability of an electric guitar. In addition, the neck is topped with an ebony fingerboard that is very responsive and enhances the overall sound. Players can expect a bright, crisp, snappy sound, coupled with a long lasting, smooth sustain.
The Dean Exhibition 12 String comes equipped with a Fishman Isys+ preamp that features basic sound tweaking controls for live and rehearsal environments. The preamp has rotary controls for volume, bass, and treble, as well as a button for phase with the added convenience of an on-board tuner. Its bright, easy-readable LED tuning screen is ideal for dark venues.
