Key Features
Reissued by Danelectro and an essential for enthusiasts, the Wild Thing started life as a prototype called the 'Swept Wing'. Featuring the iconic Lipstick pickups and hardboard body first thrown together by Nathan Daniel in 1947, along with a groovy and eye-catchingly unusual twist of design.
Product Ref: 31788
With vintage style and a sleek black gloss finish, the Danelectro Wild Thing guitar reissue remains as true to tone as ever with a double cutaway, horned bodyshape, 'coke bottle' headstock and satin nickel hardware. Adding to the Danelectro retro, left-field vibe are the Wild Thing's enclosed 'Kluson'-style tuners.
The twin alnico-powered Lipstick case pickups have warmer spec windings which offer sweeter tones and slightly hotter output. Pearloid dot inlays on the rosewood fingerboard compliment the hardware and dual concentrics, volume, tone and 3-way selector controls.
"A highly affordable, good sounding guitar for anything but heavy rock and metal, complete with unique looks. Let's say it again: everyone should own a Dano. Even if it does look bonkers."
- Guitarist Magazine
"Though some of the materials used are admittedly inexpensive , the standard of build, finishing and setup is very impressive at this price. While this is far from the no-frills beginner's axe first imagined by Nat Daniel, the Wild Thing lives up to his vision of genuine quality at an affordable price. "
