SlideRIG Compact

Based on the larger, original SlideRIG, this smaller model offers all the same tonal options in a more compact, gig-friendly unit. This reduction in size has been achieved by using a mixture of traditional through-hole and SMD components, spread across a pair of densely populated, stacked boards. The signal path utilises film and tantalum capacitors, carefully chosen low noise transistors and MELF resistors (essentially traditional through-hole resistors without the leads), which offer low noise performance and rock-solid reliability. Carefully chosen transistors biased at relatively high currents yield a distinct signal-to-noise advantage.

The SlideRIG compact offers the perfect tool for achieving a clean transparent sustain, at an affordable price. With two built-in compressor options, you can achieve a wide variety of tones that particularly sound great when using with a slide guitar.

Basic Design

This easy-to-use model features an extremely basic three-knob layout including control options for Out, In and Blend. Housed in a sturdy metal shell, this unit is durable enough to withstand the daily rigors of gig life. The SlideRIG Compact also includes top jack inputs for optimum space on the pedalboard, this compact size also fits nicely alongside similar size pedals, therefore making full use of the pedalboard space.

Controls:

Out

The out control knob determines the level of signal present at the pedal's output, which can be set in order to keep the overall effected level close to that of the bypass signal.

In

The In control knob allows the user to vary the gain of the studio grade input amplifier. By turning the In control clockwise, this increases the overall gain of the pedal and also increases the amount of compression delivered. Overall, the guitar will become increasingly touch sensitive as gain is increased, and will provide a great tone.

Blend

When using the blend knob, it takes one compressor and feeds it into another compressor offering you a versatile tonal range. Whilst using the single stage compression, you can achieve a highly versatile multitude of uses that is both transparent and powerful. The dual stage compression delivers a clean infinite sustain, which can be blended with the single-stage for country style tones that are ideal for playing the blues.

Low Noise Electronics

The SlideRIG Compact is quiet by the standards of most pedals, and studio grade, making it perfect for studio use as well as live performances. It features high-current, discrete, Class-A circuitry for transparent, low-noise performance. It also uses a lot of clean gain and can quickly highlight noise induced in pickups and other effects units. To avoid undesirable amplifying noise created by other pedals, it is best to put the SlideRIG Compact straight after your guitar and before the other effects to fully utilise its great benefits.
