The SQ-1 provides two channels (A and B) of 8-step sequencer that can operate consecutively or be used in various other modes. With its 2 x 8 step buttons, the SQ-1 allows you to turn notes on/off in the usual way. However, by using the MODE button, you can switch their function and unlock powerful possibilities. This feature enables you to "perform" the sequence itself, just like on a volca unit. The "Active Step" function lets you skip steps mid-way through a sequence, while the "Step Jump" function allows you to instantly play a specific step, creating irregular rhythms and short loops.
