This new 2017 Dinky DK2QM features an alder body, topped with quilt maple, delivering a resonant and balanced tone with plenty of clarity and body. Alder has been a favourite tonewood in guitar design since the 1950's as the balanced response and slight upper middle definition makes it perfect for rock and blues playing. Alder also provides a lightweight guitar that can be wielded all night long without heavy strain.
This new Jackson Pro Series Dinky is packed full of premium features that provide players with the ultimate shred experience. A one-piece, bolt-on, maple neck works in conjunction with the single cutaway, providing easy access to the higher frets and full access across the whole fingerboard, for fast speed riffs.
This Dinky DK2QM features a compound-radius fingerboard, crafted from ebony. This new innovative design means the fingerboard is gradually flatter toward the neck heel, and more rounded profile at the nut. This makes for comfortable and natural-feeling chording and riffing near the nut, with optimal shred articulation and bending nearer the heel.
The angled headstock featured on this Dinky DK2QM guitar is carefully angled at 17 degrees, increasing the pressure on the strings and helping them to stay in the nut slots. In addition, an increase in string pressure also means there is no loss of string vibration between the nut and the tuners, which equals better sustain and an overall smooth play.
For that killer metal tone, the Pro Series Dinky DK2QM is equipped with a pair of Seymour Duncan JB and '59 humbucking pickups. Players can achieve an advanced sustain and aggressive high output when in the JB bridge position, and a warm and bright tone when in the '59 neck position, providing huge amounts of tonal versatility. These Seymour Duncan pickups are a perfect choice for a range of playing styles and genres ranging from blues all the way to heavy rock and metal.
