The Fender Special Edition Custom Telecaster is built with a Mahogany body and neck, providing it with a warmer, fuller tone than the more traditional Alder body/Maple neck combination. With its deep, pronounced midrange and rich sustain, the Custom Tele is well suited for a wide range of genres, from blues and country all the way through to heavier rock styles.
The Special Edition Custom Tele is equipped with a Seymour Duncan® '59 Humbucker in the neck and a Seymour Duncan® Pearly Gates™ Humbucker at the bridge. Both modelled after the renowned PAF humbucker, these pickups are perfect for those who want authentic warm vintage tones, but with a beefier output than standard Tele single coils.
In the neck position, the sweet-sounding '59 Humbucker offers shimmering clean tones and bright, full distorted sounds. The slightly hotter Pearly Gates™ bridge pickup produces a more "raw" sound with great sustain and a bright top end, perfect for lead guitar work. Both pickups are great for a wide range of styles, including jazz, blues, classic rock, heavy rock and much more.
