The Tama Starclassic Performer B/B combines two woods to achieve a dynamic and versatile tone that is favoured among many professionals the world over. With so many high profile artists having embraced the unique sound of B/B its significance in today's music cannot be understated. The shell pack includes a 22" x 18" kick drum, 10" x 8" and 12" x 9" toms, and a 16" x 14" floor tom. The tom shells are 6mm thick with 4 outer plies of birch, and 3 inner plies of bubinga. The kick drum shell is 8mm thick with 5 outer plies of birch and 3 inner plies of bubinga. Designed to offer drummers the rich, sonic beauty of a bubinga shell with the focused attack of a birch shell, the kit can produce incredible tones with enhanced lows, perfect for drummers wanting a powerful kick to their sound

Bubinga

With an unconventional combination of depth and a biting attack, bubinga features a very aggressive attack coupled with an intense depth and sustain.

Birch

Birch is capable of wide set of tonal personalities that enable the drum to project a versatile and dynamic tone. Quite often, birch is employed to produce a tighter, controlled character, which has resulted in a reputation among recording engineers as being “naturally EQ'd.”
