The Saturn V Tour series is the latest edition to the existing Saturn V line, featuring the same hybrid shells and SONIClear bearing edge as the previous Saturn kits. Whilst being ideal for the everyday gigging drummer, Saturn V Tour drums also offer drummers the ability to easily expand their kit with add-on drums, hardware and cymbals of their choice. Available in a range of wrapped finishes, the Mapex Saturn V Tour series is designed to deliver modern performance whilst boasting a classic look.
Saturn is a shell that won’t rest on its laurels. Its look, its tone, its robust construction have made it the only touring and recording choice for a community of professional drummers around the globe. With high-quality hybrid shells and SONIClear technology, the Saturn’s shells have been enhanced to offer easier tuning, improved contact between edge and head, a fuller, more rounded tone with a deeper, darker pitch.
SONIClear™ Bearing Edge & Mounts
The shells feature Mapex's unique SONIClear™ bearing edge, which allows the drumheads to sit flatter and make better contact with the shell. The result is a drum with far greater resonance and tonal clarity, along with a deeper, more rounded tone. The SONIClear™ edge also allows for much easier tuning and enables the drum to consistently stay in tune. Complementing the bearing edge are the innovative low-contact mounts. The bass drum claws and SONIClear™ tom suspension is designed to increase resonance by reducing contact and preserving vibration in the shell. The tom suspension also avoids touching the tension rods, allowing the heads to stay in tune for longer and making them easy to change.
TH800 Tom Mount
The new bass drum spurs and TH800 tom arm mount both feature measure marks, enabling you to easily and accurately set them to your preferred settings, and the arm mount features a spring system which allows the clamp to be slipped over the tube with one quick move, without needing two hands.
